About Heather
I’m passionate about helping people discover the ideas that make us question, understand and see the world differently. I teach Psychology, History, Philosophy and Ethics, subjects that I believe are not only fascinating in their own right, but also incredibly valuable for understanding ourselves, other people and the world around us.
I want to teach because I genuinely enjoy sharing knowledge and seeing someone have that moment when a difficult idea suddenly makes sense. For me, tutoring is not simply about helping students achieve better grades. It is about building confidence, curiosity and the ability to think independently.
My goal is to create a relaxed and supportive environment where you feel comfortable asking questions, challenging ideas and making mistakes. Whether you are preparing for an exam, struggling with a particular topic or simply want to explore a subject in greater depth, I want you to feel that our lessons are built around your goals and your way of learning.

My approach to private tutoring is highly personal and tailored to each student. I strive to help students develop not only strong subject knowledge but also the confidence to question, analyse and form their own well-supported ideas.
Every student learns differently. Rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach, I take time to understand your individual strengths, challenges, interests and goals. Lessons are shaped around you — whether you need to build your confidence, deepen your understanding of difficult topics, improve essay technique, prepare for examinations, or simply become more curious and independent in your thinking.
I want my students to leave each lesson feeling that they have understood something rather than simply memorised it. My role is not to give you every answer. It is to help you develop the tools to find, evaluate and communicate your own answers. Whether you are aiming for top grades or simply want to become a more confident thinker, my tutoring is built around one principle:
