About Aminata

I am currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in multimedia journalism. After working in schools for 2 years, my goal is for all students to be confident in learning and believe they can reach any of their dreams because they are just as smart as their peers, just with different sets of talents.

About the lesson

My methods involve the understanding that children don't just learn by being spoken to the entire time and expected to memorise, but by actively engaging in subjects. As a tutor who has dyslexia and ADHD, I can use all the skills I learned to achieve in school and show my students that learning differences are not a barrier but just need adaptation. I am able to teach by taking into account that every child is a different learner: visual, auditory, reading/writing and kinaesthetic learners. My typical length of a lesson is 2 hours but includes rest breaks for the child to process information and be more active in studying. Having worked with all year groups, I am able to cater my lessons to ages 5-11.
