About Azzara
I am an undergraduate university student at the University of Toronto. I successfully completed the first two years of the Chemical Engineering program before I decided to switch paths. I am now studying to work in the transliteration and interpretation field for foreign languages. I study Russian, Spanish, and South Slavic (Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian) languages and cultures. I have been working as a private tutor for 5 years. Before this, I was a volunteer tutor at my high school. I have worked with over a hundred different students, so I have experience with many different learning styles, ages, and abilities. I have a very balanced experience across STEM and humanities disciplines. This has given me a unique and well-rounded way of thinking about the world. I aspire to share this with my students, and lead them to become resourceful lifelong learners. Learning is about observation, curiosity, and patience. I teach my students concrete skills to develop these habits, so that they can succeed at anything they wish to try.

Hi! ^_^
I am a private tutor with 5 years paid experience. I can provide services for the following topics at the high school or early university level: algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, statistics, biology, chemistry, English/writing, Spanish, Russian, and Bosnian. For grade school levels, I tutor all topics.
I have experience teaching students with learning disabilities such as ADHD, dyslexia, and autism. I adapt my teaching methodology to show students how to leverage their neurodivergency strengths in the face of academic obstacles.
My approach to tutoring focuses on fundamental principles of mathematical thinking and formal logic. I like to use drawings, games, stories, and analogies to illustrate basic principles. From there, we will approach problems one step at a time, thinking critically about each step.
I believe doing one problem slowly and understanding every aspect is worth much more than mind-numbing drills. Practice is important, but my goal is to empower you to practice on your own by addressing concept gaps, building your logic skills, and providing resources for you to explore.
