About Nathan
Hello, my name is Nathan Matzig, nice to meet you!
I am a second-year Philosophy and Public Policy undergraduate student at the University of Virginia. I am originally from the suburbs of Chicago. I am interested in pursuing a legal or political career in order to make the world a better place!
In my life, the most important thing is empathy. I always try to see the best in people. I will make sure that I tutor in an empathetic way that empowers students to feel confident in their academics.
For fun, I enjoy relaxing with a nice TV show or some good music. I also am trying to get into more artistic expression through poetry, collaging, and fashion. I have a background of involvement within speech, choir/theater, community volunteering, and political advocacy.

I have a strong base of knowledge in all middle and high school subjects, and a patient but comprehensive teaching style. I like to instill love of learning into all students, and demonstrate the importance of knowing not only what the right answer is, but why exactly it is the right answer. I believe that the best understanding of a discipline or concept comes from questioning everything.
Willing to teach any k-12 students across any academic disciplines. Prior experience in ESL tutoring.
