About Jeffrey
My career in art started immediately out of college and has not stopped. After spending some 20+ years a graphic designer and art director, I returned to my fine art background as a painter, and fell into education quite by accident; and am so thankful that I did. As an instructor of studio art both privately and at the university level, understanding the history of art is part of the process. It is vital to the knowledge an artist must possess to be successful and to develop. Appreciating the history of art and understanding it, even if it's only a single period in time or a handful of artists, can change the way one views society. Art has walked hand-in-hand with human civilization since the first humans painted animals onto cave walls. It records our life and inspires our world. I am passionate about passing on my knowledge of art history to my students. Art history is not just for the artist, but for all to experience and benefit from.

As a professional artist and experienced art instructor (K-12 and university level) I fully understand the vital role that art history contributes to a education/career in the visual arts or to a well-rounded education. I specialize in Western art history from the Paleolithic period thru Antiquity and into the 20th Century. My lessons and research assistance are more than just dates and facts, but understanding the relevance of the art on Western civilization and the individuals who created it.
