About Irene
As a programming tutor with 6 years of experience, I partner with families to build real CS skills, not just quick homework fixes. I’ve supported elementary students taking their first steps in Scratch, middle schoolers exploring Python, high schoolers tackling AP Computer Science Principles and A, and college freshmen navigating CS101 and early data structures.
Parents appreciate my structured yet flexible approach. During 6 years, I’ve learned to spot gaps quickly, explain concepts without jargon, and keep students engaged with projects they care about. I provide regular progress updates, teach study habits alongside syntax, and create a judgment-free space where questions are celebrated. Safety, patience, and measurable growth are my priorities. Your student will gain not only better grades, but problem-solving skills and confidence that extend far beyond coding class.

Think of me as your personal CS coach. I tutor K-12 through college year one, and no two lessons look identical because no two students are. First, we map your goals: passing AP CS, surviving CS101, building a game, or just finally understanding loops. Then we design a path.
Struggling with syntax? We slow down and build intuition with visuals and analogies. Bored in class? We accelerate into data structures, web dev, or creative coding. Lessons mix mini-lectures, live coding, guided debugging, and independent challenges. Languages include Scratch, Python, Java, C++, and JavaScript, whatever your school uses or you’re curious about.
I put huge emphasis on mindset. Programming rewards persistence, not perfection. You’ll learn to embrace errors as clues, to Google effectively, and to architect solutions step by step. Parents get progress updates; students get judgment-free space to ask anything. My students leave with better grades, yes, but also with autonomy. They stop dreading coding and start enjoying the puzzle. That’s the real lesson.
