About Melissa
Hello, future artists! My name is Melissa (but you can call me Mel), and I am an online at teacher passionate about helping others discover and develop their creative potential. With many years of experience in creating art and 2 years of experience in teaching art, I have had the privilege of guiding exploring students and am excited to guide many more. My goal is to make art approachable, enjoyable, and fulfilling for everyone.
Art has always been a profound part of my life, and I believe its one of the most powerful forms of self-expression and communication. Teaching allows me to share this passion, help others grow their confidence, and celebrate the unique creativity each person brings to the table. Watching my students overcome challenges and achieve breakthroughs is one of the most rewarding experiences I could ask for.

My teaching methodology combines a strong foundation in technique with a focus on personal expression and creativity. I use a step-by-step approach, starting with basics of drawing and/or painting, while encouraging students to experiment with different styles and mediums. What sets me apart is my ability to adapt lessons to each student's learning style, helping them build their artistic abilities. I emphasize creating a positive, supportive environment where mistakes are seen as learning opportunities, allowing students to feel free to explore their creativity. I am proficient in English and can teach in this language, both for art instruction and in an online setting. My lessons are primarily aimed at beginners and intermediate students, including children and young adults who are looking to develop their drawing and painting skills. I also offer lessons for adult learners interested in enhancing their artistic abilities. My teaching flexible, catering to both students who are learning for fun and those who wish to pursue art more seriously. I adapt the content based on the student's age, experience level, and artistic goals.
