About Catalina

Dedicated language teacher from Colombia with a Bachelor's Degree in Languages and Culture, currently pursuing a Master’s in Language Studies.

I lived most of my life in Colombia, spent almost two years in the U.S., and two years in Brazil, achieving advanced proficiency in French, English, Portuguese, and Spanish, gained through both formal studies and immersive experiences abroad. I also speak a bit of Japanese and Chinese. So I truly understand what it’s like to learn a language!

I bring four years of experience as a private tutor, along with two years of successful teaching experience in a secondary school and a year as an au pair. I have experience tutoring university language students and providing lessons for all ages, from children to adults.

About the lesson

As a tutor, I employ an interactive and student-centered teaching method, tailoring lessons to individual needs. A typical session involves a mix of conversation, practical exercises, and targeted activities to reinforce understanding.

I also like to incorporate virtual tools such as games, online platforms, and other interactive resources to make learning engaging and dynamic.

I focus on creating interactive and engaging lessons tailored to each student’s goals, fostering confidence and a positive learning environment, following the CEFR guidelines.

What sets me apart is my adaptability, patience, and passion for fostering a positive learning environment. I cater to learners of all levels, from beginners to advanced, and specialize in English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese.

My goal is to make language learning enjoyable and effective for each student.
