About Oscar
I have been a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Alberta to teach undergraduate students (30 per classroom) topics in environmental sciences. Also, I have prepared myself to teach in an English speaking country through the Graduate Teaching and Learning (GTL) program.
I have a bis interest in languages: Spanish is my native language. I learned English, studying and working eight months in Australia and I been living in Canada for 1.5 years. I am also certified in the Portuguese language - B1 level.
I want to teach languages because I consider it as always a win-win situation. Not only because the student will learn a different language, but also we can share cultural experiences from different countries.

I prefer to prepare always a class outline and according to that, I select the materials. In the first lecture, I bring an idea of learning topics to the student; however, based on the level, we can modify the teaching process to fit it to the learning curve of each person. I focus on the four skills usually develop to learn a language: Writing, Speaking, Listening, and Reading, and I use a learning style of improvement through practical work. Finally, I stress out that I am open to student proposals and feedback to enhance the learning experience continuously.
