About Matthew
I am an MS4 applying for FM Residency. I am a student with a unique way of learning and teaching that is enjoyable, professional and caters to the average student that may struggle with recall, differentials and Qbanks. Often, top scorers do not understand basic knowledge gaps or how to teach it because they learn in a different manner, I can fill those gaps because I understand them.

I enjoy teaching students in an interactive manner that utilizes recall methods (mnemonics, songs, and conceptual drawings) that allows sustained long-term retention and more simplistic problem solving when answering NBME's or UW blocks. Before the first meeting, I will create a study plan based on weaknesses and timeline. A typical session would be as follows.
1. List weaknesses in Discipline (ex: ATN vs AIN in Nephrology)
2. Discuss in detail and create recall method together with student writing down or drawing information in a digestible way
3. Complete 10-15 UW/Amboss questions together covering the session's topic and then discuss corrects and incorrects
4. Discuss plan for effective note-taking, retention and recall for current subject and refine study plan until next tutoring session
(Ex: "Cover the next 5-6 pages of "Renal" in FA and write down in notebook using format discussed for active recall, then cover that in UW, we will go over incorrects."
