About Yan

-I have been a language tutor(English/Chinese) since 2016. I have helped my Canadian teachers to help with their Chinese speaking and writing skills for one year. Nowadays, they could write some Chinese short articles and go to the supermarket on their own. Additionally, I tried to tutor my classmates with their Chinese reading skills in grade 5. Meanwhile, I have held some English literary tutorials for in order to help my students improve their English reading and writing skills. All of them pass the Canadian BC English provincial exam. Therefore, it will be no problem for me to use English to teach Chinese.
-Although I am still a student, I am still confident with my relevant practical experience.
-The most important reason why I choose to be a teacher is not because of money. Although I did meet some lazy or evil students, those teaching experiences have help me to see myself more clearly.
Honestly, I dislike the way of teaching and asking students to take notes all the time. It would be better to teaching them the ways of taking and designing useful notes for themselves. PBL is one of my favorite educational fields.

About the lesson

-I have been a part-time language(English/Chinese) tutor since 2016. As a Chinese native speaker, it would be my great pleasure to share my Chinese writing, reading and speaking skills with you. No matter what Chinese language level you are in, the process of helping and correcting your Chinese skills and language learning habits would be one of the most precious memories in my life. Teaching is my permanent passion. Therefore, I could help with your HSK test, Chinese school coursework or Chinese writing, reading, listening/ speaking skills.
-My lessons will be mainly based on your current Chinese language level and your current needs. I will test your current Chinese level first and then design your own short-term or long-term learning goals. My lessons will use different levels of textbooks and learning materials, which generally depends on your current level. We would discuss together to design the learning plans you prefer.
-Honestly, I am a conscientious and kind tutor because these two words have generally summarized my students' lesson comments so far. Therefore, I do hope that you could be a hard-working student. As long as you want to improve Chinese and take our lessons seriously, I would definitely try my best to help you. I would add some interesting PBL learning elements into our Chinese lessons because I dislike teaching and sharing things to you on my own all the time. You do need to reuse the things that I have shared with you and digest what you have learned from our lessons. As a language learner, it will be necessary for me to prepare some periodic examinations for you in order to help you figure out your different types of language shortcomings.
