About Andrew
Hello, my name is Andrew, I'm a 21-year-old student based in South Perth, currently completing a double degree in Physics and Computer Science at UWA. My ATAR subjects included Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics Methods, Mathematics Specialist and Economics.
As a student with ADHD, I've always had a passion for these topics, but initially struggled to have that passion reflected in my grades. Over time, I found different ways to work through and make sense of problems myself, and that experience taught me that good teaching is less about repeating the same explanation and more about finding the specific way a concept clicks for each student.

I tutor high school and early university level Mathematics, Physics and Programming (Python, C, Java, C++), either online via video call or in person. I'm happy to travel up to about 15 minutes for in person lessons.
Lessons usually begin with a quick check-in on what has been covered in class and where things are getting confusing, so we can focus on what actually matters. From there I work through problems step by step, ensuring each concept is solid before moving on. I like to keep things flexible rather than sticking to a rigid lesson plan: if something works, we keep going with it, and if not, we switch it up and find a process that works for you.
I draw on a wide range of practice problems and worked examples I've built up through my own studies, so we're never short of material to work through, and I lean on a visual approach for a lot of problems using tools like Desmos and Mathematica to actually show what's happening rather than just writing out equations.
