About Gwyneth

I am a Psychology Honors student at The University of Western Australia, with a strong interest in helping students understand psychology and become more confident in their academic work. I particularly enjoy taking complex psychological concepts and breaking them down into clear, understandable explanations.
Throughout my Psychology degree, I have developed extensive experience with academic writing, research methods, critical evaluation of research and APA 7 formatting. I have recently completed an Honors research dissertation, which involved conducting independent psychological research, reviewing academic literature, analyzing quantitative data and communicating research findings clearly.
I also have experience working with secondary school students through my role as a mentor, where I support students with confidence, participation and learning. This has taught me the importance of adapting my communication to different students and creating an environment where they feel comfortable asking questions.
I genuinely enjoy helping people understand things that initially seem difficult or overwhelming. My goal as a tutor is not just to help students get through an assessment, but to help them develop the understanding and confidence to approach their own work independently.

About the lesson

My approach is focused on helping students genuinely understand psychology rather than simply memorising content. I like to break complex concepts down into clear, manageable explanations and then connect them back to examples, research and the broader context so students understand how everything fits together.
For undergraduate psychology students, I can provide support with areas such as research methods, lab reports, academic writing, literature reviews, APA 7 formatting, interpreting research and understanding how to structure and communicate psychological arguments. Having recently completed a Psychology Honours dissertation, I have extensive experience with academic writing, critically evaluating research and communicating psychological concepts clearly.
I also understand that different students need different approaches, so I adapt sessions to what the student is struggling with. This might involve explaining a difficult concept, working through a piece of writing, reviewing the structure of an assignment, or helping a student develop a clearer understanding of what their assessment is asking them to do. My goal is to help students become more confident and independent in their own work.
Lessons are typically one hour and conducted online. I am particularly suited to Year 11–12 Psychology students and undergraduate Psychology students.
