About Garrett
I graduated with a Master of Science in Biology with a focus in Microbiology at East Tennessee State University. I also received two Bachelors of Science—one in Microbiology and the other in Chemistry. My master’s thesis “Cyclic di-GMP regulates motility, biofilm formation, and desiccation tolerance in Acinetobacter baumannii” allowed me to apply my understanding of the subjects I tutor. I also taught the Intro to Microbiology labs at ETSU for two years as a teaching assistant. Currently, I am a Research Assistant II at Vanderbilt University researching various transcriptional regulators necessary for insulin production and common mutations that give rise to diseases associated with diabetes mellitus. My future goals include furthering my education with a PhD focusing on bacterial pathogenesis and continuing research in biomedical sciences.

I’ve noticed that most students miss the foundations and fall behind at that point. The first few lessons will focus on the basics; if I notice that you understand the basics, we will move on immediately.
