I focus on helping students understand why a method works, rather than just memorising steps. I usually start by identifying the areas a student is struggling with, then work through concepts using clear explanations, examples and progressively harder questions.
For VCE Maths Methods and Specialist Maths, lessons can include current schoolwork, SAC preparation, exam-style questions and revision of weaker topics. I also focus on common mistakes and efficient problem-solving techniques.
Lessons are typically 60–90 minutes and are aimed at Year 11 and 12 VCE students.
