My teaching method is hands on. You need to get in with your hands to be able to cook, it's not something you can sit back and learn from a book or on the media. I encourage students to all take part if in a group, and if individual encourage that student to be hands on.
I am a nurse and EMT with a passion for good and healthy food. I've been a Vegan chef for 4 years, but have been a "cook" since I was a child. I take any opportunity to teach anyone who wants to learn!
I graduated Deans List from Art Institute.
I also earned many cooking badges as a Girl Scout, so no level is too primary, and no level is too high.
My first catering job was a sit down meal for an engagement party. The guest of honor was a five star chef and owned his own Restaurant. At the close of the night, I got "two thumbs up" for a wonderful vegan meal that satisfied everyone! During this meal I also had an assistant who this was her first experience working in a kitchen. I was able to teach her while preparing this fab meal! Another memorable experience was teaching a cooking class to a group of children when I worked as the "camp cookie" at a youth summer camp, those children had never seen the inside of a kitchen, yet they made a fab breakfast of Biscuits and gravy!
