About AKOMANING-AMOH

Hello, I’m Dr Linda, a qualified and experienced university lecturer, tutor, assessor and academic mentor with a PhD. I am passionate about helping students understand challenging subjects, develop confidence in their abilities and achieve their academic and professional goals.

Throughout my teaching career, I have supported undergraduate and postgraduate students, adult learners and working professionals from a wide range of cultural and educational backgrounds. I understand that every student learns differently, so I provide patient, personalised and well-structured support based on each learner’s needs.

My lessons are professional, encouraging and focused on genuine progress. I create a welcoming environment where students can ask questions freely, overcome areas of difficulty and develop the skills to work more independently. I explain complex ideas in clear language and provide practical, constructive feedback that students can apply immediately.

Whether you need help with academic writing, research, assignments, dissertation development, business-related subjects or professional skills, I will work with you to establish clear goals and a realistic plan for improvement.

You can expect every lesson to be carefully prepared, punctual and delivered with respect, integrity and a strong commitment to your success. My aim is not only to help you complete your immediate task, but also to equip you with knowledge, confidence and transferable skills that will continue to benefit you.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is supportive, practical and tailored to each learner’s individual goals. I begin by assessing the student’s current knowledge, learning style and areas for development. I then create focused lessons that break complex ideas into clear, manageable steps.

My teaching methods include guided explanations, real-world examples, structured discussions, practical exercises and constructive feedback. I encourage students to think independently rather than simply memorising information. Where appropriate, I also help learners strengthen their academic writing, critical thinking, research, referencing, assignment planning and presentation skills.

A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, although 30-minute and 90-minute sessions can be arranged depending on the learner’s needs. Each session normally includes a review of previous learning, an explanation of the main topic, guided practice, feedback and clear next steps.

I hold a PhD and have extensive experience as a university lecturer, tutor, assessor and marker. I have supported students from different academic, professional and cultural backgrounds, including learners for whom English is an additional language. My experience enables me to explain difficult concepts clearly, identify gaps in understanding and help students improve the quality of their work.

My lessons are particularly suitable for undergraduate and postgraduate students, adult learners and working professionals. I can support learners with academic skills, research and dissertation development, business-related subjects, professional development and confidence in learning. Every lesson is delivered in a respectful, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and progressing at the right pace.
