About Blue

Hi, I'm Blue, a third-year Veterinary Medicine and Surgery student at the University of Nottingham! As someone who has both given and received tutoring, I really understand the benefit that a bit of extra help with a tricky subject gives. I aim to provide friendly and supportive lessons that focus on finding a way of learning that works for the individual student. Creating a positive environment is key to learning, and I consider it to be of utmost importance. I hope to meet you soon!

About the lesson

I aim to apply what I have learnt in my previous experience in teaching and tutoring to provide tailored individual learning plans and engaging lessons. My previous experience includes:
- Teaching KS3 (English - ESL)
- GCSE/6th form biology club leader
- Tutoring KS3 (maths, English - ESL) and GCSE (maths, biology, chemistry, English language)

I am looking to teach 1-2 hour lessons to GCSE and KS3 students. A typical lesson with me would include: - Recap/marking tasks set in the previous lesson. - Focus on any questions about current schoolwork. - Teaching of curriculum-compliant content - either with or ahead of schoolwork. - Practice questions, both worked through together and done individually. - Setting new questions to practise in the student's own time.

Perfect! Blue was brilliant with my daughter. They didn't make any assumptions and colour-coded the topics according to what my daughter thought her strengths and weaknesses are. Blue taught at a really good pace for my daughter, who is autistic and has ADHD and Blue worked through the teaching material in a logical and clear manner, adapting explanations where needed. The end result was a lovely set of notes, made by my daughter and by Blue and I now have a happy daughter!
