About Mel
The first lesson I gave was on a harmonica in 1967.
I've taught since then, especially from the 1990s on.
Over the years, I've learned to play many instruments.
Along with that, I've written dozens of supplemental exercise guides to assist myself students in learning the details of playing their instrument.
I enjoy the variety of students that I have worked with and look forward to many new ones.

My lessons typically consist of work on a method book, a technique book and a songbook.
Lessons are always positive and supportive, aimed at acquiring new playing or comprehension skills and at reinforcing previously learned skills.
I've taught for decades as a private instructor and still relish helping budding musicians.
