About Juliet
As a high-school and middle-school English teacher, I have always enjoyed spending time with my students. That moment when a student gets a brilliant idea about the text absolutely thrills me!
Even the most difficult texts can be read with patience and by using metacognitive skills like questioning, rereading, think-alouds, and annotation. These skills are easy to learn but must be practiced in order to become a better reader.

The best thing about being a tutor is that you can personalize content specifically for the student. My lessons are short and easy to understand. I am certified to teach 7th-12th grade English. There are no bad questions from students. Every question is important --it's the most intelligent people who ask the most questions.
In addition, I'm happy to clarify anything a student doesn't quite understand. It's our job to explain something differently if the student is not grasping it at first blush.
I've taught AP English Literature and AP English Language. I have also taught American Sign Language for many years (my parents were Deaf, so I am a CODA (Child Of Deaf Adults)).
