About Eric
I’m Teacher Eric, a dedicated educator with over 15 years of experience empowering students to reach their academic goals. My journey began teaching middle school science in Miami-Dade Public Schools, where I discovered the importance of making complex ideas both clear and engaging. Later, I spent a decade in Singapore teaching English as a Second Language to learners of all ages and backgrounds, refining my ability to build confidence and fluency through interactive, real-world practice. Beyond the classroom, I’ve provided one-on-one and group tutoring in Algebra and Social Studies, helping students strengthen foundational skills and improve their grades. I believe that every learner has unique strengths and challenges, and I adapt my approach to meet each student’s needs. Whether we’re exploring scientific concepts, solving math problems step by step, or practicing conversational English, my sessions are structured, supportive, and focused on measurable progress. Professionalism and reliability are at the core of my teaching style. I arrive prepared, listen closely to student concerns, and set clear goals to track improvement. My warm, patient demeanor creates a safe learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and tackling new challenges. Let’s work together to build knowledge, confidence, and a genuine love of learning.

As a tutor, my approach is centered on clarity, engagement, and confidence-building. I combine my experience teaching in U.S. public schools and internationally with proven strategies that meet students where they are — and help them grow from there. Teaching Methods & Techniques I tailor each lesson to the student’s learning style and goals. I use visuals, real-life examples, questioning techniques, and active practice to ensure deep understanding. For ESL students, I emphasize communication and fluency over rote grammar drills, integrating speaking, listening, reading, and writing in every session. For science and math learners, I break down complex concepts into manageable steps, always connecting lessons to real-world contexts so students understand why something matters, not just how to solve it. A TYPICAL LESSON PLAN A typical session includes: A quick review of previous material A warm-up or practical example to introduce the new topic Step-by-step explanation of the concept Guided practice with feedback Student-led problem-solving or discussion A short recap with takeaways and goals for next time For English/ESL students, lessons often include a speaking prompt, vocabulary review, targeted grammar or reading activity, and a brief writing or listening task. What Sets Me Apart I bring over 15 years of classroom and tutoring experience across three core subject areas: Science, English, and Math. I’ve worked with students from diverse backgrounds — including middle schoolers in Boston and international students in Singapore — so I know how to adjust quickly and respectfully to each learner’s needs. I’m also a patient, encouraging presence who makes students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes — both of which are essential to learning. Who the Lessons Are For I work with: Middle school students (grades 6–8) High school students needing support in foundational math or science Teen and adult ESL learners (all levels welcome) Students who need regular academic support or help preparing for exams Whether you need a long-term learning plan or quick support before a test or presentation, I’ll create a custom path to help you succeed.
