About Ian

I am a passionate Flute tutor with 8 years of experience teaching students from school level to working professionals. I believe flute learning can bring joy, confidence, and balance into everyday life. My teaching philosophy is based on patience, clarity, and personal attention. I understand that each student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching methods to suit individual goals and pace.

In my flute classes, I teach posture, breathing techniques, finger control, tone development, and scale practice. I also include rhythm training and basic music theory. I help students prepare for performances and musical events. Throughout my teaching journey, I have guided many students to perform confidently and continue learning flute with enthusiasm. Teaching music is my passion, and I enjoy supporting every student.

About the lesson

My flute teaching methodology is student-focused and flexible, built on strong communication and practical learning. I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style according to their pace, age, and learning preference. My aim is to make flute learning simple, enjoyable, and effective.

I communicate each concept clearly, starting from the basics such as holding the flute, breathing techniques, and sound clarity. I break down complex techniques into easy steps so students can understand and apply them comfortably. Regular feedback and open discussion are part of every lesson.

I use real-life examples and musical case studies to connect theory with practice. Students learn how flute techniques are used in songs, performances, and recordings. This helps them understand the real purpose of what they are learning and keeps them motivated.

Along with flute training, I also teach music theory, rhythm exercises, scale practice, ear training, sight reading, and basic improvisation. I introduce related subjects like performance etiquette, practice discipline, and musical interpretation. My teaching approach helps students develop technical skill, musical understanding, and confidence to perform and enjoy music in real-life settings.
