About Sally

Hi, I'm Sally!

I am a bilingual tutor fluent in both Korean and English and currently studying at Victoria University of Wellington. Having grown up in Korea and later moved to New Zealand, I understand the challenges and rewards of learning a new language from personal experience.

I offer Korean and English lessons in a supportive, patient, and encouraging environment. My goal is to help students build confidence and enjoy the learning process, whether they are complete beginners or looking to improve their existing skills.

I can help English speakers learn Korean for travel, culture, conversation, reading, and writing. I also support Korean students who have grown up in English-speaking countries and would like to strengthen their Korean language skills. For English learners, I help students improve their speaking, listening, reading, writing, pronunciation, and everyday communication.

I believe learning should be practical, engaging, and tailored to each student's individual goals. Every lesson is personalized to suit the student's level, pace, and learning style.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is friendly, patient, and personalised to each student's learning goals. I believe that every student learns differently, so I adapt my lessons based on their age, skill level, and preferred learning style.

For Korean learners, I focus on practical communication, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, and writing. Lessons can be tailored for complete beginners, English speakers interested in Korean language and culture, or Korean students who have grown up in an English-speaking country and would like to strengthen their Korean language skills.

For English learners, I help students improve their speaking, listening, reading, writing, pronunciation, and confidence in everyday communication. As someone who learned English as a second language and now studies at university in New Zealand, I understand the challenges international students face and can provide guidance from personal experience.

A typical lesson lasts 40 minutes, although shorter or longer sessions can be arranged depending on the student's needs. Lessons include a combination of explanation, practice activities, conversation, and feedback to help students make steady progress.

I am currently studying at Victoria University of Wellington and have lived in New Zealand for several years. Being fluent in both Korean and English allows me to explain concepts clearly in either language and support students who are learning in a bilingual environment.

My lessons are suitable for children, teenagers, university students, and adults of all levels, from beginners to intermediate learners.
