About Kathryn
I am a violin tutor with 6 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Violin Studies. I enjoy helping students grow through supportive teaching and carefully planned lessons that make learning rewarding.
My teaching style is patient, flexible, and focused on each learner's progress. I believe confidence grows when students understand every skill and practice with purpose.
Outside teaching, I enjoy performing with chamber groups, studying violin repertoire, and creating creative practice exercises. These experiences help me bring fresh musical ideas and practical knowledge into every lesson.

My violin lessons encourage students to build dependable skills through organized learning and enjoyable practice. We work on posture, bow control, finger placement, rhythm, intonation, scales, tone quality, string transitions, and musical phrasing using carefully planned exercises and engaging musical pieces. Every lesson creates a positive environment for steady improvement.
As learners continue advancing, we practice shifting, vibrato, sight reading, ensemble playing, recital preparation, ear training, musical interpretation, and effective practice routines. I provide encouraging feedback that helps students strengthen both technical ability and artistic confidence.
My goal is to help students become confident violinists who perform with accuracy, creativity, and enjoyment. Every lesson develops strong musical foundations and a lifelong appreciation for violin performance.
