About Rhea
I am a violin tutor with 13 years of experience and a PhD in Music Performance. My lifelong passion for violin has allowed me to teach students from many different backgrounds while continuing to grow as both a performer and educator.
I believe successful learning comes from patience, consistency, and positive encouragement. My teaching style combines technical precision with musical creativity, helping students develop confidence while discovering their own artistic voice. Every lesson is carefully adapted to support individual learning styles.
Outside teaching, I enjoy performing classical repertoire, researching violin interpretation, and attending chamber music events. These experiences continually inspire my teaching and allow me to share practical musical knowledge that helps students grow into confident and expressive musicians.

My violin lessons focus on helping students develop beautiful sound, reliable technique, and confidence through enjoyable learning. We begin with posture, bow control, finger placement, rhythm training, tone production, and listening exercises that create a strong technical foundation. Every concept is explained clearly using simple English, allowing students to understand each movement before progressing to more advanced techniques. Lessons are encouraging, structured, and designed to help learners enjoy every achievement.
As students improve, we explore scales, shifting, vibrato, sight reading, articulation, intonation, musical phrasing, performance preparation, and expressive interpretation. I also include ear training, duet practice, and coordinated bowing exercises that strengthen overall musicianship. Practice routines are carefully planned according to individual goals so students continue developing steadily while enjoying the learning process.
My goal is to help every learner become a confident violinist who performs with accuracy, expression, and genuine enjoyment. Every lesson develops technical skill, musical understanding, creativity, and lasting appreciation for the instrument.
