About Derek

With a Bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance and over seven years of teaching experience, I am deeply passionate about guiding students in their musical journey. My background in both classical and modern music equips me with a diverse skill set, allowing me to offer a rich and varied approach to violin and viola instruction. My experience performing and teaching has honed my ability to connect with students of all levels, from beginners to advanced players preparing for conservatory exams.

I believe that effective teaching goes beyond just technical instruction; it involves fostering a genuine love for music and creating an engaging learning environment. My lessons are designed to be both educational and enjoyable, incorporating a range of musical styles and genres to keep students motivated. About the lesson
