About Tessa
"I have 9 years of experience teaching violin and hold a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a Violin Emphasis. My background is rooted in classical training while also embracing modern musical styles. I enjoy helping students become confident and expressive musicians.
My lessons focus on building strong bowing technique, smooth vibrato, clear phrasing, and thoughtful musical interpretation. I believe good technique gives students the freedom to express their own musical ideas. Every lesson is planned to match each student's experience and personal goals.
I have helped students prepare for graded music exams, auditions, and ensemble performances with confidence. Working in groups has shown me how important listening and teamwork are, and I make those skills part of every lesson. One student who was nervous about playing in a youth orchestra became much more confident after we practiced ensemble skills through simple duet sessions.
I enjoy seeing students grow at their own pace and celebrate every achievement along the way. Whether you are learning your first notes or preparing for an important performance, I will support you with patience, practical guidance, and encouragement. My goal is to help you enjoy playing the violin while building skills that stay with you for years."

"My violin lessons encourage curiosity, exploration, and learning through personal discovery. I create a relaxed space where students feel comfortable trying new ideas and learning from every practice session. Small discoveries often lead to the biggest improvements.
We explore different sounds using open string resonance, simple improvisation exercises, and musical games that make learning enjoyable. Fingerboard mapping activities help students understand where notes belong instead of relying only on memory. Ear and eye coordination exercises strengthen reading skills while improving listening at the same time.
I encourage students to experiment with tone, rhythm, and musical expression as they become more confident. Some learners enjoy discovering techniques on their own, while others connect more deeply by expressing feelings through music. My lessons support both approaches without rushing the learning process.
Students who enjoy creating videos or sharing performances often learn how to present music with confidence and personality. Others simply want to play songs that bring them happiness after a busy day, and I help them build the skills to do that comfortably. I often ask students to compare two different bowing styles because hearing the difference helps them make better musical choices. Over time, they develop stronger technique, better listening skills, and greater confidence. My goal is to help every student enjoy the learning process while finding their own unique musical voice."
