About Atticus
I attended the University of Florida (with a year at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics in Chengdu, China) for a degree in International Studies with a focus on Econ and Chinese. My career path is currently unpaved and winding. Approximately three years of economic development experience at the Gainesville Chamber of Commerce, and I'm currently working on a chemical manufacturing startup located in UF Innovate | The Hub.
My professional interests include data analysis (I use R), design, economic writing, market analysis and a passing interest in engineering. I'm always looking for an excuse to practice my mandarin language skills.

Music theory is a necessary foundation for anyone interested in playing music throughout their lives. Whether their interest is in jazz, classical, pop or any other genre, music theory provide a space for them to learn and develop their skills. It also provides a foundation for learning additional instruments--if that's of interest to the musician.
For this reason, all lessons I give begin with scales and bow studies as a precursor to practicing a performance piece, one piece at a time.
