About Jack
I am a 21-year-old junior at Virginia Tech with a strong background in English. I earned A’s in English at both Bishop Ireton High School and Virginia Tech and completed dual enrollment English coursework through Marymount University and NOVA during my senior year of high school.
With two younger brothers, ages 11 and 17, I am comfortable working with younger students and understand the importance of being patient, respectful, and encouraging. I aim to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, improving their skills, and building confidence in their work.

I begin by reviewing the student’s assignment or prompt to understand what is expected, then look at their work to identify strengths and areas for improvement. I provide positive, constructive feedback and guide students toward understanding how to improve rather than simply giving them answers.
As a 21-year-old Virginia Tech student, I was in their shoes not long ago and understand the challenges students face. My lessons are for 8th–11th grade students seeking help with English, literature, essays, reading comprehension, and teacher feedback.
