About Isabel

I am a California Community College transfer from Los Angeles currently studying business administration and public policy at UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business. I was offered acceptance into UC Irvine's Paul Merage School of Business, UCLA's Business Economics department, UC Santa Barbara's Accounting & Economics department, UC San Diego's Eleanor Roosevelt College Economics department, and UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business. I leveraged a number of CC opportunities and programs to secure my admission, including HTH (UCI), TAP (UCLA), HTCC (research conference), and BHC (research conference).

About the lesson

CCC transfer is more popular than ever––unfortunately, it is also very complex. Between major preparation courses, IGETC requirements, Breadth courses, student organizations, and much more, many new students feel overwhelmed. It is also difficult to receive tailored, attentive advice from CCC counselors who only meet with you in 30-minute appointments. I was in this position two years ago and navigating the influx of information on my own was a miserable experience, and I don't wish for future transfers to go through the same.

VIRTUAL: Class meetings have flexible scheduling and will be conducted through Zoom and/or Discord.

We will start by discussing your goals, dream schools, and majors. If you don't know your major, don't worry! We can discuss major requirements, college rankings, and campus culture to get you started. Once we're ready, we can get a headstart in this transfer game by going over your CCC programs and opportunities. Tutoring includes course planning, studying advice, and extracurricular advisement. Depending on your dream school, I can link you to successful transfers at other colleges for informative coffee chats.

Once you're on your way to acing the transfer process, we may check in every week or every month to review your progress. You will be able to contact me easily 24/7 for short questions or last-minute advice. I prioritize a natural, friendly learning experience––the transfer community is one big family! Above being a tutor and advisor, I am simply an upperclassman hoping to pay it forward and set you up for success!
