About Jardiel
Today's culture is one of seeking reward. However, those who have been drawing for a while know that art invites us to reflect on the reasons that lead us to do what we do. If you have a willingness to self-reflect, artistic production begins to reveal who you are as an individual. What are your motivations for persisting in an activity whose "reward" seems so distant? Why do you find what you find beautiful beautiful? By what criteria do you choose your references? In this sense, I try to use the calm associated with observational drawing as a form of meditation. In chaotic times, nothing is more important than reserving space for yourself and your own thoughts.

Jardiel is a visual artist, painting teacher, and self-taught tattoo artist in São Paulo. His work ranges from drawings to oil paintings and linocuts, addressing themes such as anxiety, fear, and the creative process as a means of self-discovery. In this way, he transforms what is often seen as a setback into a possibility. Art can, after all, be a beautiful path toward mastery and slowing down, without necessarily having a practical purpose, while at the same time, artistic creation need not be associated with suffering.
