About Zuri
Singing instruction remains my priority because I enjoy watching people find their authentic sound. Sometimes I feel most useful when guiding a nervous performer through the mechanics of a high note. My training from NYU Tisch School of the Arts grounded me in healthy vocal production for 13 years of practice. I focus on vibrato control, pitch, and consistent head and chest voice transitions.
These technical foundations work well for hobbyists, intermediate learners, and those preparing for specific grade exams. Helping students manage harmony singing and sight singing is a major component of my daily workflow. I have taught 450 students across my career who range from total beginners to serious auditioners.
My teaching philosophy relies on genre styling for pop, classical, and musical theater projects. I currently provide recorded warm-up routines for my students to use during daily home practice. This practical approach ensures that your technique remains sharp between our scheduled meetings.

Singing starts with a thorough physical and vocal warm up. We begin by adjusting your posture and breath support for 10 minutes. Afterwards, we pivot toward repertoire that highlights your unique range and acting choices.
I use my own piano skills to accompany your rehearsals in real time during the hour. Microphone technique is often integrated into the middle section to help you understand how to navigate studio and stage setups. Having spent 13 years performing on tour and in NYC, I know exactly what creates a successful audition room atmosphere.
