About Gillian
I'm a 9th grader who is a vocal music major. Even though I am young music has just flowed through my body. I have many family members who have been doing music since birth. Weather it's just singing, instruments, or both! I have been in choir for as long as I can remember. I sing of course, but I also play the guitar (Self taught for 3 years). And on the side I am learning the piano and xylophone. I'm not only to help you learn, but learn myself with you all!

Despite my young age I have always exceled in music. It become a part of me, and I hope to spread my love of it to others I may teach. I am a firm believer in physical and metaphorical teaching. Meaning I give visual cues and explanations as to why we do what we do. Sometimes hearing isn't enough, and to really understand you need to do it yourself! Everyday we will talk about what needs to get done, then head right into warm ups, following that we will start some sight singing/instruction. Then I'll take some time to see what musical goal they need help with outside of my instruction. I'll do best when it comes to younger kids in an elementary and early middle school level. I can only work on the weekends and I understand the importance of feeling relaxed while also working, so of course our lessons will be fun and enjoyable.
