About Charlotte
Hello! I'm Charlotte, a musician/singing teacher based in Liverpool but I am originally from central Scotland. I remember being a small kid singing Adele into the TV remote (I drove my family mad!). I had my first singing lesson at 9 years old and fell in love.
I travelled to Liverpool where I studied songwriting and performance at LIPA, graduating with a BA (first class honours). I have completed my BAST (be a singing teacher) training, and hold an enhanced DBS. With professional experience in teaching privately and within a school, I can't imagine not using my voice! I love people and singing, so I thought, why not share my love with people and help them to form a passion as strong as mine?
On the side of teaching, I am a performer, which is important to mention... I do what I do because I have a strong passion for it! I gig my own music and release my songs too (maybe you have heard me on the radio?).
I don't always know what to say in 'about me' sections because we all have so much we want to share, but one thing I want you to know is that I am fun, engaged, sometimes funny and crazy (as singers we all learn to embrace the craziness!) and I just want you to have fun singing as much as I do... in a healthy and sustainable way, so that you can continue to sing your heart out with no damage or strain!

Not every single voice is the same, that's why I don't like to use a 'one-size-fits-all' approach when it comes to my lessons. I tailor the lessons to your individual needs.
Typically, my lessons begin with body stretches (to reduce tension), vocal warm ups, working through a song, followed by a vocal cool down, online via Zoom. Whether you are singing for a hobby, or if you want to have a career using your voice, I am here to help!
Being a songwriter and performer myself, I am always being immersed in the music industry, which means I have awareness in this area too (if that is something you want to explore). I not only want to teach you how to sing, but I want to guide your understanding of what's actually happening inside your body when you sing too!
I offer different lesson length packages. Having graduated LIPA with a BA (first class honours) in songwriting and performance, and having BAST (be a singing teacher training), I have experience working with a variety of age and skill levels, and I have a broad understanding of the ups and downs that come with singing.
I have a background in classical, musical theatre, jazz, soul and pop, so am open to working with any genre! Ultimately, I want to come on your journey with you, and help you to use your voice in a fun and sustainable way.
