About Ky

Hello there, my name is Ky Court, I have been a musician for 10+ years and am currently in Austin, TX where I’ve been teaching privately for 5+ years now.

Music is my passion, and my goal as a teacher is to pass that spark on. I teach all ages- but the majority of my students are 5-12 years of age. I do strongly believe it is never too late to start your musical journey!

I work on tailoring each lesson to the individual student as not everyone learns the same. Music is such a powerful entity, and the amount of joy or frustration it brings can be a complicated balance, especially when learning something new. Passing on the joy that music has blessed me with is by far the greatest thing about teaching music.

I’ve performed over 300 shows in Austin in the last four years, and have been performing professionally for about 15 years now.

About the lesson

We start by talking about the student’s goals. Where do you want to go? How can I help to get you there?

I love working with all different kinds of students. I’ve had students 2x or 3x my age and that is always so lovely to introduce or re-introduce the pleasure that is learning music to adults. Most of my students are 4-17 years old, with many different dreams and goals with our lessons.

Find a teacher that makes you excited to continue to learn music. You want a teacher that can find out how YOU learn best, what pace works for you, what’s realistic when it comes to practicing? etc. Find a teacher that you enjoy being with!

Some of my daughters friends have also started taken lessons with her too and their parents are happy as well. With all that has happened through Covid I will say music has helped keep my kids spirit alive and something to enjoy that can not be taken from them. Ky works so well with the kids (kind, cool, fun) and VERY talented! I love hearing her sing with my daughter. My kids and I look forward to meeting Ky each week for their lessons LOVE HER!!!!
