About Elclaro

My name is ELIAS DAVID VELAZQUEZ and my career in teaching began more than 14 years ago, although my connection with music dates back earlier. Since 2005, I discovered that my true passion after studying Music Education Teaching and Violin Teaching was more than that, it was also singing, understanding the voice and transmitting that knowledge.

My academic training was rigorous and deep: I completed a 7-year career in the Singing Teacher Training Specialized in Popular Singing (Jazz, Folklore and Tango) in the Popular Singing Orientation Music Teacher Training, where I received my official degree in 2018. That training laid the foundations for my understanding of the voice from a comprehensive perspective.

But my learning never stopped. For more than 10 years, I complemented my training with continuous study from lyrical teachers, which allowed me to integrate the best of both traditions: the warmth and expressiveness of popular singing with the rigor and vocal health of the lyrical school.

My teaching experience is broad and diverse. Between 2012 and 2021, my studies in music education allowed me to enter teaching, I worked as a music teacher in primary and secondary schools, which gave me a unique understanding of how the voice develops at different stages of life and how to adapt pedagogy to each individual. That experience taught me that there is not just one way to teach, but rather multiple paths to reach each student.

In 2019, I took a fundamental step in my career: I began to teach classes in the Singing Faculty of the same institution where I trained. I am currently responsible for three subjects: two dedicated to vocal technique and repertoire, and one focused on teaching practice and vocal didactics. Training future singing teachers in the country is, without a doubt, one of the tasks that makes me most proud and challenging.

In parallel, I have developed an intense activity as Director of the choir of the Spanish Mutual Aid Society of San Nicolás (2017-2020), founder and director of the Gospel Choir of the Liliana Granberg School of Art (2023-to date), and as a vocal coach of various choirs, praise groups and vocal ensembles. I have also run my own singing academy since 2017, a space where I apply and develop my pedagogical methods in constant dialogue with singers of all levels.

My thirst for knowledge led me to specialize in the most advanced methodologies of contemporary vocal pedagogy. In 2015 I trained in the YAMAHA Method (Popular Music Course). In 2020, I incorporated the Rabine Method (Functional Vocal Pedagogy), a revolutionary way of understanding the voice from anatomy, physiology and body-mind integration. Later, and currently I am an active and permanent student of the Estill Voice Training model, delving into precision tools such as belting, twang and vocal mix from a scientific basis.

Today, with more than 14 years of experience, my career focuses on accompanying intermediate and advanced level singers, professionals who need to resolve technical details, aspiring auditions and castings, and especially those who wish to train as singing teachers or vocal coaches. My mission is to share everything I have learned so that others can build a strong, healthy and expressive voice, and so that future teachers have deep and effective pedagogical tools.
