About Rachel

Hello!

I'm so glad you're looking into joining my studio. Be it for a few lessons here and there, long-term study, or anything in between, I look forward to coming up with a lesson plan that works for you.

My name is Rachel, and I hold an MA in voice pedagogy. My undergraduate degrees are in Spanish and Music, and I have been teaching private voice lessons as an independent contractor in public middle and high schools for 5 years. I also had the pleasure of teaching college students during my time as a TA during my graduate studies. When I am not teaching, I perform professionally in my community and study voice with my own teacher. These pursuits help me to become an even more effective pedagogue.

Though my background is classical, I work with singers of all genres. I learn as much from my students as they do me, if not more! The official name of my studio is Orchid Vocal Studios, and students signing up through Superprof will be joining Orchid Online. We will talk details, and I will provide an electronic contract where you can indicate your preferences, questions, and insights. Rest assured that I will take your input into consideration with the utmost care.

About the lesson

Lesson plans and packages are individualized based on students' needs. In our initial lesson, we will discuss what it is you would like to achieve and make a plan accordingly. Lessons are 30 min or 60 min and can be taken a-la-carte or as part of a package. I have experience teaching ages 9 through college, and feel that I am most effective with beginning-intermediate students who are middle-school aged. If you are looking for a gentle and positive voice teacher to help boost your confidence, I might just be the right fit for you!
