About Micah
Hi, I’m Micah Tappe, a musician and Music Director at School of Rock Winter Park. I teach private lessons, lead student bands, and help musicians prepare for live shows. I’ve taught music for nearly 20 years, working with students of different ages, abilities, and musical interests.
I began studying piano as a child and went on to develop my skills in guitar, bass, and voice. I studied at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, Valencia College, and the University of Central Florida. Alongside teaching, I’ve worked as a singer, guitarist, songwriter, and performer. That experience shapes the way I teach: strong fundamentals matter, and so does the thrill of making music that means something to you.

I teach piano and keyboard, guitar, bass, and voice to children, teens, and adults. We can work on technique, rhythm, musical expression, songwriting, or the skills you need to play with other musicians. You’ll have clear goals, useful feedback, and music you’re excited to practice. Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time or preparing for a performance, my aim is to make every lesson challenging, encouraging, and genuinely fun.
