About Michael
Songwriting is the single most important aspect of my life, and the subject of my deepest appreciation. No matter the genre or style, I am always eager to discover what about a song allows it to function. How to summon that soaring melody? How to craft a chord progression that satisfies the soul? How to find that turn of phrase that breaks your heart and enriches your mind? These are the questions I try to answer.
More than an admirer, I'm a songwriter myself, and practice the craft regularly. I have written dozens of songs in more styles than I can count, scored a short film, and am currently in the process of recording my first album professionally.
