About Winnie

I have been working with students for more than 16 years now. My background is in Mathematics, where I obtained my BSc in Mathematics from the University of Bristol and later on MSc in Mathematics and Finance from Imperial College. I love working with students and my aim is to bring out the full potential of a student. From my experiences and observations, I find many students here are not given the right challenges to reach their potential. If you want to CHANGE this status quo and are looking to IMPROVE your maths many folds, I am excited to work with you.

In brief, if you want to succeed in Mathematics, I would love to work with you to achieve that.

About the lesson

I have 2 main ways of working with students:
- This is my preferred way as I believe this is the way that will benefit you for the rest of your life. I will help you with your current and future topics, working it from the fundamental principles, making sure that you understand the concept. This method takes a longer time but gives you a thorough understanding of the topics, meaning that you will be able to tackle any questions asked in a multitude of ways of that topic. Along the way, if there is any other related topics that you are not secure, I will go back and help you secure those, even if it means going back a few levels. Only with a sound foundation, that you can progress in the future without others help, and you will be able to learn more advance topics by yourself.
- If you don`t have the time to go through the previous way, where for example you are going to be taking your national exam in a year time or less, then I will go through the exam techniques with you. This will be the most effective way to boost your grade in a short period of time, bearing in mind that your understanding of the fundamental concept will depend on how well your foundation is.

These are a very general overview, and every student is different. I will have to work with you for 1 lesson or at most 2 lessons, where I will be able to find the best way to work with you upon agreement with you and your parents. I believe the Confucius saying: "Teach students in accordance with their aptitude".
