About Miriam

When you take singing lessons with me, you enter a space that celebrates your individual voice and nurtures your unique musical journey. Whether you’re new to singing or an experienced performer, I customize lessons to meet your goals and needs. We focus on building healthy vocal technique such as breath support, pitch control, and tone development, alongside creative tools like vocal improvisation, visualization, and lyric interpretation to keep lessons engaging and expressive. I encourage you to bring songs you love so our work is meaningful and motivating. I pay close attention to your emotional and physical state each session, offering grounding exercises when needed or energizing performance drills when you’re ready to shine. My goal is to create a supportive, judgment-free environment where you feel safe to explore, experiment, and grow your confidence. We’ll develop a consistent practice routine tailored to your lifestyle, ensuring steady and enjoyable progress. In addition to solo singing, I provide coaching in harmony singing, songwriting, and stage presence to help you become a well-rounded artist. Whether you sing for personal fulfillment, emotional connection, or professional goals, I’m committed to helping you find your authentic, expressive voice.

About the lesson

The journey of vocal development is as much about identity and connection as it is about pitch and phrasing. In my teaching, I use a values-driven framework of Communication, Creativity, Cultural Sensitivity, and Accountability to create lessons that nurture both the instrument and the individual. Communication is the first step toward empowerment. I ensure you understand what we’re doing, why we’re doing it, and how it fits into your vocal path. We discuss your vision, your influences, and your hesitations.

This makes our sessions a collaboration rather than a directive. Creativity invites you to sing from your imagination. We explore techniques like guided improvisation, emotional mapping, storytelling, and visual imagery to help you move from vocal execution to meaningful interpretation. You’ll find that the more creative space we make, the more flexible and expressive your voice becomes. Cultural sensitivity is not just important—it’s essential. I teach my students to honor the origin of each song and to understand the context they’re stepping into when performing culturally significant material. We also work to identify songs that reflect your own narrative, language, and experience, making your vocal work deeply personal.

Accountability keeps your progress intentional. I guide you with practice structures that are realistic, targeted, and adjustable as your skills evolve. Feedback is regular, constructive, and tailored to help you not just improve but also reflect. Alongside this framework, we work consistently on breath control, resonance, articulation, stylistic interpretation, and vocal resilience.
