About Liam
I specialise in online mathematics tuition for students studying Advanced Higher or A-Level Maths. As a Warwick Mathematics undergraduate who achieved 80% in my first year and setting a Scottish record of 10 A grades at Advanced Higher, I aim to help students develop mathematical intuition that will carry them beyond the immediate syllabus, while teaching them how to apply that understanding effectively in exams.
My strongest focus is mathematics/statistics, particularly for students who already have a good grasp of GCSE/National 5 qualifications and are looking to make the step up to A-Level/Advanced Higher.
I also sat Advanced Highers in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Computing, Geography, Accounting, Economics, Mechanics and Statistics. I am therefore happy to discuss tuition for SQA/NQ qualifications in these subjects where appropriate, particularly exam preparation, study techniques and guidance with coursework.

I am passionate about explaining why you are learning something and the motivation behind the concepts involved. I prioritise understanding over brute memorisation. A session might begin with the motivation behind the construction of an idea, before progressing to its more foundational and computational elements and then targeted exam practice.
I am flexible in my approach and will adapt sessions to the priorities and learning style of each student. This might influence whether to spend more time on conceptual understanding or question-drilling; whether to spend time solidifying the predictable marks or preparing for harder A-grade questions.
