About Josiah

As someone who failed their A-level mock exams, and needed a tutor, I feel like I can empathise with the frustration of my students who are unable to succeed to the level at which they know they are capable. Now two years on from sixth form studying for an Integrated Master's degree in Natural Sciences at Warwick I want to help other people learn in the same way I was helped.

About the lesson

I think that a 1:1 tutoring session is more of a conversation, as tutoring allows you to gain experience in a way that is impossible to obtain in a classroom. I strive for attention to detail towards my tutee, as well as being able to understand how they approach questions. In a one-hour session, I tend to use quizzes, guided exam questions, and other interactive experiences to gauge understanding. These have been shown to work with my GCSE students, however, my lessons are suitable from Year 6 - Year 13.
