About Jalen
I've danced for 15 years being inspired by Michael Jackson, who got me into dance and appreciating the art. For 8-15 hours a day, it has been one of the all-time consuming passions of my life. The idea of being able to help those who aspire to learn and grow in the art is inspiring. I've always had dance as an outlet and expression, and through years of detailed awareness, have come to understand the art intimately with respect to my individual journey. I don't claim to know everything, but my experience has bloomed a definite advancement do to my years of endless practice and dedication.

My teaching method is all about open creativity. Taking fundamental concepts as a basis, but also allowing the mind to be open to spontaneous inspiration, which allows a uniqueness to spring forth through your own personality in the dance. Dancing is about FREEDOM. Its not about a fixed state, memorizing specific steps to recycle etc. as that is only copy and paste. It's necessary when learning a foundation, but stifles creativity when it is fixated upon. The goal is to be open and allow the DANCE to form a mind of its own through the art of FREESTYLE, where uniqueness and life comes of its own accord. You can NOT truly understand the art of dance unless you are OPEN!
