About Samantha
I began teaching private lessons as I worked my way through college and loved it so much that I have since done it most summers of my life on top of working other jobs. It brings me so much joy to watch the excitement on a child’s face when he or she swims for the first time! I’ve worked with at least 50 children privately over the course of 12 years, and it was very rare to work with a student who didn’t enjoy his or her lessons. I had a five-year-old student who taught me an “underwater high-five” and now I teach it to my other students haha.

My lessons are fun and educational! The number one priority is to get my students water safe. They learn to float on their front and back, “crab crawl” to the steps, freestyle, backstroke, breast stroke, put their face in the water and open their eyes, and much more.
I make sure my students are comfortable and feeling fully supported by me. We sing songs, dive for toys, swim through hula hoops and ensure they are having fun and learning at the same time. I want my students to be excited for their lessons! I never force them to do anything they are uncomfortable with. We ease into everything gently as children can often have a fear of water.
