About Kurt
I’m a fourth-year Biomedical Sciences student at the University of Waterloo with a minor in Medical Physiology, and I genuinely enjoy helping others learn. I know how tough Biology, Chemistry, and Math can get, especially when the course load starts to increase in difficulty, so I focus on explaining things in a clear and simple way that actually makes sense. I’m patient, easy to talk to, and I try to make lessons feel relaxed but still productive. My goal is to help students feel more confident in what they’re learning, whether it’s preparing for a big exam, improving grades, or just finally understanding a topic that never clicked before.

As a tutor, I focus on making science and math feel understandable and approachable. I teach Biology, Chemistry, and high school Math, and my goal is to help students truly grasp the concepts instead of memorizing formulas or definitions. I usually start by figuring out what parts of a topic feel confusing, then break them down into clear, simple steps using examples, visuals, and guided practice. I like keeping my lessons conversational and relaxed so students feel comfortable asking questions and sharing their thought process. A typical session begins with a quick review, followed by new material explained through examples, some guided practice, and a short recap to make sure everything sticks. What sets me apart is that I focus on helping students see how everything connects, not just for the test but for long-term understanding. My lessons are mainly for high school and early university students who want to strengthen their foundation and gain confidence in science and math.
