About Cheryl
Programming instruction begins when we sit down to debug a particularly messy block of code that fails to compile. My 4 years of experience as a quant at Macquarie taught me that clean code is not a luxury but a necessity for functionality.
We utilize object-oriented programming principles to build robust systems while integrating HTML and CSS where necessary for visual clarity. My BCom background ensures that every technical exercise is grounded in real-world utility and efficient problem-solving strategies. You will find that our time together focuses on practical backend basics rather than abstract theory. I emphasize the importance of writing code that is readable, maintainable, and scalable for your future projects.
By connecting these concepts to professional industry standards, I provide a comprehensive view of how software is actually constructed. We will systematically break down complex requirements into manageable segments to ensure you understand the underlying architecture of your applications. This process ensures you develop the mental habits required to handle technical challenges independently.

Computing is a logical language that demands clear thought processes and rigorous structure. I completed my BCom degree at ANU and spent 4 years working as a quant at Macquarie, which informs how I approach teaching. Students often struggle with object oriented programming or understanding APIs because they lack a solid foundation in backend basics.
During my 4 years of teaching teens, adults, and board exam candidates, I have seen how practice on coding platforms transforms ability. I prioritize project based learning to ensure that concepts in Java or Python translate into real application. You will find that I maintain a calm and methodical approach to problem solving in every interaction.
I am here to help you navigate the complexity of software development with precision and efficiency. I enjoy seeing students finally grasp the nuance of structured programming.
