About Ron
I am a traditionally trained Tai Chi instructor. This year again I returned to China to train with my teacher. I have extensive experience in teaching people in person (1978) and online as I began teaching people through video when VHS tapes were in style. I also hold a registration with the Chinese World Wushu Development Center as a recognized referee and advanced instructor.

August 22, 2024 Ron has taught me the Yang 8 form via the introduction to Tai Chi course, which I share with my own students every week. I have regular one-to-one lessons, which I find very interesting and enjoyable. I highly recommend Ron as an instructor, he is friendly, knowledgeable and conveys complicated techniques in an easy to understand way. Lillian February 02, 2024 I have been training in Tai Chi with Ron since November 2021. With weekly online lessons, I have learned a number of forms, and am now learning sword form! Ron is an excellent instructor- he is patient, kind, and easy-going. He is also thorough and encouraging, and I am so pleased at my progress over this time. Last year, Ron and his partner organized an in-person workshop that I was able to attend, and I am now a certified instructor for the Yang 8 form! That was an excellent experience, and I look forward to more in-person meetings in the years to come. I am 58 years old, and I can feel the benefits of this training to my strength, balance, and mental acuity, so it is definitely something that I will stay with!
Review
All of our reviews are collected by us and are 100% reliable. They correspond to a real experience lived by students with Ron.
Perfect! I didn't realize how quickly these lessons would become the highlight of my week. Ron offers a wealth of experience that he expands continuously, at a pace that matches any student.
His teaching method combines patience with precision. Ron explains complex movements in simple terms and demonstrates them clearly from multiple camera angles with detailed verbal cues. I never feel rushed, though his confidence helps me grasp concepts faster than expected.
Ron is not a practitioner who decided to teach after basic training—he is a registered Master Instructor with multiple certifications and regular training in China (he encourages students to join him). He passes decades of dedicated study to his students.
Beyond that, Ron is really an excellent, positive person that you will enjoy spending time with. I highly recommend contacting him.- Ron's response :
Perfect! The warm welcome and relaxed pace give me the support to continue the practice

I have been taking online lessons from Ron for around 5 years. His style of teaching is relaxed, patient and non-judgemental. He is very knowledgeable and wise and is constantly updating his own skills and knowledge of traditional tai chi, including regularly training in China, so you can be confident you are being taught by the best. He is also very intuitive and will gently guide and encourage you to be the best that you can be, whether you are completely new to tai chi or have been practising for years. The lesson will be all about you and the stage you are at. Ron is more than just a teacher; he is a mentor who will support and encourage you in an enjoyable and friendly way throughout your own personal tai chi journey.
Ron has taught at our Senior Center for over 3 years and has been integral in our mission to keep seniors active. Having someone so accomplished and talented work with older adults in such a caring way, makes them feel special. He has also helped many of them overcome obstacles like Parkison's disease. Bringing this important skill to an older population is life changing. We are so grateful to have him at our center.
I have been a student of Ron's for many years now, both in person and virtually. He is an excellent Tai Chi instructor. He isn't one of those instructors who will get a quick weekend certification and then teach Tai Chi as though he were an expert. Ron is always striving to improve his own Tai Chi as well to make himself a better instructor and to be able to help his students to excel. Most importantly though, he knows how to teach Tai Chi to make it accessible to anyone. It doesn't matter if you're looking to just improve your health or if you want to dig deep into the forms, Ron is able to handle it.
I have been a student with Ron for close to 5 years and in this time, I have benefited greatly from his experience and knowledge in Tai Chi.
As a teacher Ron has a great presence demonstrating comment, the right knowledge at the right time and exciting opportunities such as training in the US and China.
I personally highly recommend Ron to all student regardless of their level.I have studied with Ron for 7 years (Off & On) and he is a very thoughtful instructor. He will help you achieve goals when there seems to be no way. Last year I had a reverse shoulder replacement and he had me doing Tai Chi again in a short time. He is very patient with his students and has a wealth of knowledge.
Ron is a wonderful teacher. I have been attending his group classes for 18 months and recently started private tuition which I am enjoying and benefiting from.
Ron is patient, supportive, compassionate and kind. He engages in wholehearted listening and is very willing and able to explain concepts and movements in easily understandable ways.
I highly recommend lessons with him.To preface my background: I am a retired public school teacher who worked with neurodiverse juveniles for 20 years. Since I recognize exellent quality in teaching, I recommend Ron as a tutor-teacher. I've been an active group member in Ron's class for more than two years.
Because Ron's teaching approach is inquiry-based, he helps to
motivate the older adults that he teaches including global, diverse learners via zoom.
Ron inspires people in a holistic, broad approach to expanded ideas, wellness, social and emotional balance, and physical strength.
In addition, he regularly asks for questions to check understanding. Ron consistently and successfully lifts a person's spirit by encouraging everyone to keep practicing and attending.I have trained with Ron for almost two years and recommend him to anyone looking to train in Tai Chi and Qi Gong. Not only is he very knowledgeable and experienced in Tai Chi and Qi Gong, but he is a wonderful teacher and instructor. He has an ability to connect with his students so he can tailor their training to meet their goals. I have trained with Ron both in person and online, and both learning platforms have provided the same high quality instruction and learning. During my time training with Ron, it has been very helpful that he answers any questions or concerns I have outside of our scheduled lessons promptly. I highly recommend Ron for anyone looking to begin or further their training in Tai Chi and Qi Gong.
I have been learning tai chi from Master Ron for over three years. He is an excellent teacher! He is clearly an expert, and has many years of experience. He is very kind, and patient and good at explaining and demonstrating. His school provides many opportunities for learning tai chi, and he is very flexible when it comes to arranging lesson times. I have learned from him in both a virtual setting and in-person. I am very happy that he is guiding my tai chi journey, and I plan to continue learning from Master Ron for years to come!
I've been taking tai chi classes with Ron for over five years now, and I can't recommend him enough! He is incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and always brings a positive energy to every session. No matter your skill level, he makes you feel comfortable and supported, breaking down movements in a way that’s easy to understand. His passion for tai chi really shines through, and his calm, encouraging approach makes learning both enjoyable and rewarding. If you’re looking for a great tai chi instructor, Ron Pfeiffer is the one to go to!
I am 81 years old and have been a student of Ron's since 2006. I am still one of his students. While I was still working, after taking several instructor's courses, I held classes at work . The Tai chi I have learned helped me out off knee surgery and is helping with my neuropathy. Ron is dedicated to his students and continued self education. He studies with a Chinese master -in China, ITCA is affiliated with the school in China.
Thru the Tai chi classes, take over these years, I have some of what I learned including 2 sword forms, Yang 8, Sun 73, most of the 42 Combined Hand . form.
Ron is always ready and able to modify movements so the forms can be done safely by anyone regardless of disabilities.
Ron has been my teacher, mentor, and friend for over a year now. His classes have not only taught me multiple forms for tai chi but also how to be a better person.
I began taking classes because of my own negative emotions as way to help clear my head. I told Ron upfront and he embraced it fully. His classes are a way to improve my skills and work on myself beyond the exercise. He has help me become confident, competent, and happier. He gives the same effort teaching a challenging move as he does helping me break through my own doubt and frustrations. I've had many good teachers but none reach the level of care and commitment ive seen Ron give me and his other students. Have to miss a class because your sick? Ron is willing to move mountains to get you a make up day. Feeling down after a rough week? Ron is available to talk it through. Want to go back over a form you learned 6 months ago? Of course he's up for it.
In summery Ron is an ideal instructor and im glad to have found him when I did. I couldn't imagine this past year with out his wisdom and effort.I've known the instructor for International Tai Chi Alliance for about 35 years but I've only done tai chi for about six. In that time I've gone from certified klutz to having the best balance I've ever had. I'm able to move in ways I couldn't move five years ago. Tai chi has helped me reduce pain, develop agility, and has challenged my mind so that my cognitive abilities and memory have improved. This didn't happen overnight - nothing of value does. However, I hope to continue this journey and believe my best years are yet to come. Thanks, International Tai Chi for your help.
