About Wasana

Passionate and creative art teacher with over 7 years of experience in inspiring and guiding students of all ages to explore their artistic abilities. Skilled in various mediums, including painting, sculpture, and 3D, sewing ,art makeup and pottery digital art.Commissioned to fostering supportive and inclusive learning environments that encourages creativity, self-expression, critical thinking. I was also in charge of purchasing equipment and all art materials for the arts department in my school. I was also organized teaching assistants for the primary and secondary art classes.

About the lesson

1. Exploring Color Theory

• Objective: Teach students about primary, secondary, and tertiary colors, along with warm and cool colors.
• Activity: Have students create a color wheel using paints or colored pencils. Then, experiment with blending colors to see what they can create.
• Materials: Paint, brushes, paper, color wheel reference.
• Extension: Try a warm vs. cool color landscape to show how color affects mood.

2. Texture and Mixed Media Collage

• Objective: Explore textures and layering in art.
• Activity: Students create a collage using different materials (newspaper, fabric, string) and paint over parts to add dimension.
• Materials: Mixed media supplies (magazines, fabric, cardboard), glue, scissors, paint.
• Extension: Have students try creating abstract or realistic compositions, focusing on how texture can impact the final piece.

3. Perspective Drawing

• Objective: Teach one-point and two-point perspective.
• Activity: Start with simple shapes in one-point perspective, then move to two-point to create cityscapes or room interiors.
• Materials: Pencils, rulers, paper.
• Extension: Try having students add shadows and shading for a more realistic effect.

4. Self-Portraits and Expression

• Objective: Explore self-expression through portraiture.
• Activity: Guide students in drawing or painting self-portraits, encouraging unique styles and mediums (pencil, watercolor, or collage).
• Materials: Mirrors, pencils, paints, or collage materials.
• Extension: Use themes like “how I see myself” or “my personality through colors” to inspire personal and creative results.

5. Sculpture with Found Objects

• Objective: Teach basic 3D design and sculpting.
• Activity: Have students bring in items (plastic, cardboard, metal) to create sculptures around a theme, like “nature” or “the future.”
• Materials: Found objects, glue, scissors, wire.
• Extension: Discuss how to repurpose materials, linking art to environmental responsibility.

6. Art History Inspiration Project

• Objective: Introduce an artist or art movement, and create art in that style.
• Activity: Choose an artist or style (e.g., Van Gogh, Impressionism), discuss their techniques, then create a similar piece.
• Materials: Depends on the chosen artist—might include paints, chalk pastels, or ink.
• Extension: Have students present their works and discuss what they learned about the artist’s style and process.
