About Rhys
I am a freshman at the Lovett School in Atlanta, GA. I have played chess since I was 6 years old and have been playing competitively for 7 years. I have been ranked a top ten player in my age group in Georgia and am a multiple-time attendee of the Castle Chess Camp at Emory University. I live with my parents, brother, and dog, and I enjoy playing basketball when not playing chess!

As a young tutor, I enjoy connecting with students. My goal is to make your learner better, but most importantly to make chess a joyful and fun game. My lessons will focus on all facets of your learner’s game. For beginning players, I will focus on key aspects of the game of chess such as how the pieces move and basic tactics. For more experienced learners, I will aim to sharpen their tactical vision and their understanding of how to coordinate their pieces. My passion for chess is unmatched and I hope that I can share that passion with your learner.
